february 2023 update

letter from the executive director

Dear Friend of the Foundation,

This year's Annual Report reflects the profound impact that community support has on our ability to assist students, families and school staff.

And as the title, "Embracing Change," suggests, it also highlights a year that felt transformative for our organization!

After nearly a quarter-century of existence as the Olympia School District Education Foundation, we felt it was time for a bit of a refresh.

We officially announced our rebrand this past fall: We are now the Olympia Education Foundation. But if you didn't attend our breakfast, you may not have heard the reasons for our new name and logo, which are the result of nearly two years of work that included extensive stakeholder outreach.

To learn more about the rebrand, as well as the Foundation's history, I hope you'll take a couple of minutes to enjoy this short video: www.olyedfoundation.org/brand-reveal.

The report, which covers the period from Sept. 1, 2021, through Aug. 31, 2022, can be accessed via the button below.

While the words "school" and "district" may now be absent from our name, our dedication to our mission to empower every student remains -- as does our commitment to the Principal's Emergency Fund, Teaching & Learning Grants and Mental Health Initiative.

Best,
Katy Johansson
Executive Director | Olympia Education Foundation
