march 2025 update
annual report
Dear Friend of the Foundation,
Spring is nearly here, and I'm reminded that this time last year, the Board of Trustees and I began updating our strategic plan, which I mentioned in last year's Annual Report.
During the course of several months, we actively participated in a half-dozen in-depth discussions about the future of our organization. We also held 20 focus groups that included more than 50 district staff, 10 parents of current students, a handful of our long-time sponsors, and three-dozen students from Avanti, Capital and Olympia high schools.
The result is our 2024-2027 Strategic Plan, which can be found on the "reports" section of our website: olyedfoundation.org/reports. It focuses on:
Improving our capacity.
Increasing community awareness about our organization.
Sustaining our long-term fiscal health.
Honing and refining our current programs.
Students remain at the heart of everything we do. They were the focus of our planning process, which also yielded: 1) a fine-tuned mission statement: cultivating student potential; and 2) our first-ever vision statement: Students belong. Everyone learns. Communities grow.
The Board of Trustees and I have committed to reviewing the plan, and our progress toward achieving its objectives, quarterly.
If you would like to assist us, we welcome insight from all members of our community. You can offer your time and expertise on our Board of Trustees, or as an occasional volunteer. Please reach out to me at info@olyedfoundation.org or 360.596.6110 if you're interested.
